Iron sharpens Iron so one man sharpens another.  Proverbs 27:17

Mission Statement:

The Men's Ministry at Abundant Faith Church is "committed to building godly men to serve Christ in their home, church, career and community." This mission statement, adopted by the Men's Ministry in 2004 is pursued through a variety of initiatives, events and activities. The Men's Ministry places great emphasis on developing relationships in and among the men of  AFCC for furthering encouragement and support of men in their walk with Christ.

The Scriptures tell us that we are to sharpen one another like iron sharpening iron. Many of the men of AFCC have developed accountability relationships with two or three other men. The concept is for a small group of men (no more than three or four) to get together on a regular basis to get to know one another, pray together and ask each other the tough questions about how their personal life is going. The Men's Ministry seeks to assist in matching men with other Christian men in these relationships.

Men's Retreats

The Men's Ministry has consistently provided retreat opportunities to AFCC men, historically on an annual basis. Typically, the retreats are held in the late fall.  They provide an excellent opportunity for men to share fellowship, learn from God's word and reflect upon their walk with Christ. Our 2009 Retreat will be held later this year. Check back for details.

Weekly Men's Study

Our Men’s Group meets every Tuesday morning from 6:30AM in the morning to 7:30 AM here at our 2525 Taylor Avenue campus.  It is an opportunity to build relationships with each other as we grow closer to God. Don't miss this wonderful time of encouragement.

Fellowship Events

Opportunities for the men of AFCC to come together in fellowship are planned on a periodic basis. Examples have included breakfasts, cookouts, football and basketball games. The annual Old School vs. New School basketball game features the older men vs the younger guys.  These are excellent opportunities for men to get to know one another better and build relationships.

The AFCC Men’s ministry participates in an Evangelism program we like to call Saturday Nite Live.  Twice a month on  Saturday evenings, men in the  church van travels the streets of Springfield, ministering the Word of God.  We visit the homeless shelters, jails and anywhere else people gather, to minister to the needs of the unsaved and hurting.  We intercede on behalf those in need seeking God’s salvation, direction and His provision.

Service and Home Repair Projects

AFCC is blessed with many men who are gifted tradesmen, carpenters, plumbers, etc. The Men's Ministry is beginning a service group of men to schedule home repair and maintenance projects where men of the church will work together to provide needed support. This might be a home of a congregation member, local parks or it might include work on a church or other buildings in our community.  Stay tuned.
